The heart

I volunteered at my Ultrasound a couple weeks ago,  to be a volunteer at a class for lab techs today. Jeremy came and I think that he regretted that he did. I thought it was pretty cool to see the little man's heart for an hour but not so much for Jeremy.

He said after,

"Nichole, If I would not have come. You would have gotten lost coming down here and then I would have received a call with you mad and frustrated that you could not find the place and yelling at me for not coming."

Which is probably true, so even though he was kinda bored, I am glad he came.

So now I know what it feels like to be a lab rat. I had about 10 lab techs and a teacher surrounding me and being amazed at left ventricles and right ventricles, the hockey stick, moving fingers. All terms I was not familiar with and was trying to tell the difference between each angle but I really couldn't. They kept telling me he had a beautiful heart so that was great!

I now believe that a pregnant woman on her back for a long time is not a good thing. I had read it but did not really believe it. But today, I started out on my back and after about 10 minutes, I had to tell the group that the model had to stand up or she was going to pass out. They all let me get up right away. I then laid on my side and felt much much much better.

The lady who asked me to volunteer was super sweet and gave me my very first baby present! Some cute little onesies and a board book. I love the onesies. I of course held them the whole way home and told Jeremy our little man was going to be in these one day. It is weird to think that I am going to be responsible for him in a few short months and I will have no one to give him back too. I am so used to giving babies back.

Another cute thing was a bunch of my students came up to me on Friday and asked me when I was due and if I was going to let them see the baby next year. I remember when one of my teachers was pregnant how excited I was and it is kinda neat to see the other side of it. I keep on going back and forth wether or not I am going to teach next year. That experience on Friday made me want to stay.

Until next time!

Early Valentine Dinner

Jeremy and I are heading to Utah this weekend to visit the kids and celebrate their birthday's.  We are very excited to go.  We purchased bikes for them and so we are driving Grandpa Jim's truck out to Utah just so we can enjoy a weekend with the bikes, only to bring them back to Colorado with us.    It sounds kind of mean but I think they will appreciate having bikes in Colorado to roam Mead with when they come and visit us this summer.  We will enjoy spending time with them for 1/2 the summer.

We have packing to do and we need to go get the truck tomorrow, so Jeremy surprised me by having a early Valentine dinner tonight.   I had to take a picture because it just looked so pretty on the plate.  It was not only pretty but very very delicious.

I really am getting into this blogging thing.  I have always been a very good journal writer and now this has turned into my journal.  It is nice to know that some people are reading it every once in awhile but really I think it is cool to just do it for myself.

I am excited to have my son read it and see how I was feeling during his pregnancy and the different things that went on.   I talk to him now all the time.  On the pregnancy at 21 weeks e-mail that I received a few days ago, it says the baby's hearing is developed and can hear you.  So now I talk to him quite often.  I think we are going to be pretty good friends.  I have been reading aloud a lot because that is one good thing they say to do as well.  So if he is prone to read girl novels when he is older, I will know that he was listening!!

Life is just so much fun!  I am as giddy as a school girl!  Teaching is going really well and it is nice to feel so much better.  I have been exercising in the mornings and that feels good to.  I turn on my ipod and listen to all my favorite songs and march and dance around my room before I get ready for work.  It is a little something but for the last week I have done it, I feel so much happier.

Speaking of exercise, along with the bikes for the kids, Jeremy and I decided to buy a treadmill as a Valentine's day present for ourselves.  I am excited to get moving on it....at a slow pace during the pregnancy and then to have it after the boy has left to the outside world.  Jeremy is excited to and vows he is going to use it too.  I really hope he does.  I love my husband with all my heart but sometimes I worry about his health.  He has been nervous about his high blood pressure and resting heart rate and he really wants to improve his cardio fitness, so until we both get into the habit we are going to put the treadmill in the family room right in front of the T.V, so we are always reminded.  We don't have that many vistors so, at least for 6 months or so, we are going to let it stare us in the face!

Strong Swimmer

We went in for our Ultrasound today and we are excited to announce that we are having a BOY!!!!
It was fun to see the little guy and we did see him!  It is 100% boy !!
Our lab tech was totally cool and she asked if I would come in and be a model for an imaging class, so I will get another ultrasound and a gift and a free lunch!!!  She said he had an awesome heart beat so that was cool!
So now, Jeremy and I can start talking about names!!!  Yeah!  I am so excited!

Creative Johnson Family

Have I ever mentioned how cool my husband is? Well if I haven't I am telling you now he is sooo talented. Makenzee, Dylan, and Wyatt all have birthdays in about a 3 week span. Wyatt is January 26th, Makenzee February 12th and Dylan February 26th. We went to go buy Wyatt a card for his birthday and we could not find anything we liked, so I suggested that Jeremy paint a card for him. He did but we did not get a photo of it...but we did get a photo of Makenzee's.  We have one more to paint for Dylan now.  We won't ever forget to take pictures of them now.  Because sending them off we don't know what happens to them and it is very important to me to document what a wonderful father Jeremy is.

Baby is moving

So the little one has been moving. Doing flips is what it feels like! I will be in the car and Jeremy will hear me laughing and he asks me what I am laughing at and I will tell him the baby is tickling me. It really does tickle me. It is so fun to have the little one move.

February 10th is when we have the Ultrasound appointment and find out what we are having. My friend at church said that they couldn't tell on her first ultrasound and went home crying. They let her go back two more times before they finally found out they were having a girl. She was a very modest little girl I guess.

If little one is shy and does not want us to know yet what gender, I don't think I will cry because either way I will be happy.

How about them Giants! That was a fun game. Jeremy and I went to my Mom and Dad's to watch the game on the BIG SCREEN! Here is how it went during the last 5 min of the game after the Patriots scored a touchdown and the score was 14-10

Jim- Well that's it! It is over! Way to go Manning Loser!

Jannet- I am going to go back and watch my movie!

Jim- It's over, they can't do it! and Manning blew it.

Nichole- Well at least it was an exciting game.

Giants progressing on the field and Manning avoids a sack and an amazing catch by Plexiglass, or whatever his name is!

Jannet- Heavenly Father must really want Eli to win because he is very blessed.

Nichole - Go Giants I hope they score!

Giants score!

Jim- Ha Ha Patriot Cheaters! You lost you lost you big Cheaters!

Jannet- Pride goeth before the fall!

That is true to life comments from my parents. They make me laugh so much! If you ever want a good laugh you have to watch a game with Jim and Jannet!
