Just sayin Hi!

Jeremy and I took the Camera up to a pretty place
a couple of months ago
to get some 2 year old shots
of the boy....

I finally had some framed yesterday
which this one was included...

It is just sooO his personality. Anyway, Xander noticed them
and was SUPER excited, Said "DER" and blew himself kisses!

HA! I am glad he likes himself.

Because I like him A LOT TOO!

We finally Made it home

We finally Made it home. See the sweat on Jeremy. Doesn't he look like he lost 10 pounds? Good thing I brought up all those shirts for him.

OK

Let's just say that a female thing made me run down the mountain
a bit faster. 6 hours to get up. 3 hours to get down. :)

Thankful that Jeremy had a clean sock and I had the spandex kind of underwear to hold everything in place.

GROSS!

I am sorry but it is the truth and I am sure that is what the pioneers had to do. Poor things.

But I had not had a visit from good ole Aunt Flo for 3 years. Birth Control kept me Aunt Flo free and I just barely stopped and was not expecting it to come back so fast. But I am glad it happened on the last day, not the first.

We were both starving and wanted to go to Beau Joe's in Idaho Springs but we were both so grimy and now I was feeling especially dirty that we went to the Mc D's drive thru instead. I don't think I have downed a Big Mac faster in my life. I probably could have eaten two.

I am so glad we made this trip!

Here's to making Memories of US!

MY LOVE!

P.S.
Oh yeah, see that stick I am holding in my hand in picture above. Jeremy carved and made it a nice walking stick for me. I told him how I fall down a lot on the down hill, so he made me this nice, walking stick up at camp for the way down and it worked great! I love my husband!

I would never watch this on TV. But I love to watch my husband fish! He is Hot! And I bet you never met a person who thinks that fish teeth are cool.

How to keep Bears away

On Day 2 Jeremy made some delicious fish.

He caught them.
He was going to bring 3 fishing poles
2 Fly rods
and a Spin rod
He wanted me to carry the Spin rod up in this big bulky case
I said
NO!!
It would have taken me 7 hours to get to camp with that thing also on my back.

So he actually used the fly rod like a spin rod
and caught fish. I will post the video tomorrow.
So glad I did not carry that rod
made him be creative

This is Jeremy cooking. MMMM it was so good.
Fresh Fish does not taste "fishy"
It tastes like really good meat.
I think "fishy" is rotten.
We are all eating rotten fish at home.
Fish is not supposed to taste "fishy"

See that little canister with the word "JAX"
That is our Bear Container

We had to put all our food in it every night to keep the bears away.

I also brought Xander's little Bear towel
and dressed up like a bear
and held fish.
Because Bears like fish but I was dressed as a bear with fish,
and then yeah, they stayed away.

GRRRR....Oh yes, I also prayed nightly

And had this little Marmot tent to keep me safe.

And Jeremy slept with a knife and told me how he would kill the bear if it attacked us.

So we were safe.

Mostly because of Xander's towel I think!

Back Packing

Last April or was it March. Jeremy decided that he wanted to go back packing. We went to REI and looked at trail books and figured out a place to go. We love Rocky Mountain National Park. We looked at going other places but kept going back to RMNP. Jeremy found a 6 mile trail where we could camp and then do a little day hike to a lake to fish and stay in the same camp site the next night. Don't we look happy in this picture? Isn't my purple pack cute. I thought 6 miles was going to a piece of cake. I ran the Bolder Boulder. Yeah right. I had 35 pounds on my back and Jeremy had somewhere around 60 pounds. We tried to be light packers,
"but what if it rained and we were stuck in the tent."
UNO Cards have to go,
Jeremy's 4 shirts
He sweats ALOT
have to go.
Towel to wash my hair,
definite need.

Well because of all our "needs" and the hike being 6 miles of ALL UP HILL! It took us 6 hours to go six miles. HA HA! We just kept saying as we stopped every 10 feet to rest. We really are just enjoying the view. If we went faster we would miss all this beautiful stuff. And it was amazing!
"We will make it eventually"
"We would just be sitting if we got there faster"

Self pep talk on the way up

In the Meadow. So pretty. I loved this hike.

See the meadow. Look at how high we climbed. We took lots of pictures with all of our "rest" stops.

I sat down A LOT! Just so the weight of the bag would be off my back. Despite all the hard work. Jeremy and I really loved doing this! Amazing views around every corner and good laughs at how slow poke we were......

Tow Mater

There is a farm near where we live that has all the "CARS" painted like from the movie "CARS" Lightning McQueen, Mater, etc.... you know :)

Xander has been really into them lately. We bought him a bunch for his birthday and he knows there names. He has never even seen the movie. But on the Disney Channel they have all these Disney "Shorts" with Mater that are pretty cute. Tokyo Mater is our favorite. We also can watch them on You Tube. Wyatt introduced Xander into the wonderful world of You Tube. So know every time I am on the computer, he will come up and say "Train Crash". Because Wyatt liked to watch Toy Train Crash videos on YouTube. Yes, there are people out there who stage Toy train crash videos and put them on YouTube and entertain toddlers and 6 year olds all day long. Probably not their intended audience but they love it!

But I don't like Toy Train Crash Videos. So lucky for us, there is also people who break laws and put Disney Cartoons on Youtube and Xander and I watch those.

He is such the little boy. He takes off his diaper, helps wipe himself and then throws the diaper away and then wants to sit on the potty. "potty" he says. I hoist him up there, turn on the sink and has tinkled a dozen or so times on the pot. But we need to work on doing it before he has already gone in his diaper.

But we are getting there.
