Alexander Johnson

Alexander Johnson was born on June 29th at 2:25am he weighed 6pounds 15 ounces and was 21 some inches long.  A long skinny guy.  His legs are really cute and look like little chicken legs!  I love every bit of him!

He has such a sweet innocence about him.

The reason why it has taken me so long to blog about his birth is I just arrived home from the hospital.  I went in to have the baby on the 28th at 12 noon and was induced with pit!  That is what all the nurses were calling it.  I was already dialated to a 3 and 50% effaced when I went in.  So I really was laboring all week.  I had contractions all night for a week.  I was making very good progress.  I loved the epidural and things were going smooth.  I was up to a 7cm and that is when things started to slow down.  The nurses kept coming in because they were concerned about his heart rate.  It was jumping all over the place.

The doctor came in and to make a long story short, said a c-section was my best option.  The cord was around his neck and his arm.    If I was dialated to a 10 we could go through with the vaginal birth.  I wanted to do what was best for my sweet son.  So even though I absolutely am scared to death of anything hospital related.  I agreed.  But it was not without fear and shaking like a windy tree.  I shook and shook throughout the whole process. I think the whole medical staff thought I was going to die.   It was very emotional for me.  I only stopped shaking when I could hold my son and know that this little guy was mine.  Life is never what you think it should be but throughout every experience there is always sweet fruit!

So I have been in the hospital recovering for the past 3 days.  The nurses adored little Alexander.  They all hugged me when I went home.

Top 10 things to remember about birth recovery

1.  staples in my stomach
2.  swollen behind
3. elephant feet.  (They are huge and hurt real bad)
4. I only used motrin for recovery and the nurses were all impressed.  No perkiset or whatever  other drugs are out there.  I have never been a drug person and I was glad to be able to handle it without excess drugs
5.  Constant lab tests for little Alexander ( he has a little jaundice)  So he is a little yellow peanut.
6.  Breastfeeding and not being good at it and deciding to pump and feed from a bottle.  I will keep trying to breast feed though
7.  Having Jeremy with me and his love and help with Xander
8.  Room Service.  I ordered like 100 strawberry banana smoothies....Thanks insurance
9.  Cuddling with Xander all night long because I was too sore to get out of bed and put him in his little bassinet.  He is a good snuggler
10.  Coming Home and riding in the back seat with my sweet boy!
