Hands up for Mrs. Johnson

Our school finished CSAP today, which is the Colorado State Tests.  It is gruelling, nothing like the bubble tests that I had to take as a kid.  They have test books where they write their answers. They have to take 3 math tests and 6 Reading and Writing tests.  It is long and it is boring.  I only had to test one student this year and he was precious.  He is a special needs boy and he has problems with writing.  I think he may have a form of Cerebral Palsy.  I was his scribe, which means that when he didn't want to write, I would write for him.  The past 4 years I tested English Language Learners, which means I read the whole test aloud, so it was a nice change.  I am thankful it is over though!  Only two more weeks until Spring Break!

Another cute thing that happened today was in my last class of the day, which is one of my favorite 7th grade CFS classes.  It is mostly boys but they are the coolest boys ever.  There are a couple of sons of pig farmers in the class and they are the most respectful and will try anything kids.  I want my son to work on a farm and have the same personality as these boys.
So they are working on their sewing projects and I had some leftover pretzels, cheerios, and gold fish crackers from a previous class and I decided I would share with them.  They were so excited and grateful.  They were really really sweet.  One girl, who is very loud yelled out to the class,
"Raise your hand if you think Mrs. Johnson is going to be a great Mom!"

All the kids raised their hands! And all I did was give Goldfish crackers!   They just made my day!  I hope that my home can be a home where kids will always feel welcome and want to be.  I guess the secret is the snack that smiles back at you!

One more thing to share!  Jeremy and I received new callings at church.  I am going to be the 9 year old Primary Teacher and Jeremy is working with the Teachers doing scouting activities.  We are going to miss nursery a lot but I am excited to be a part of the Primary.  It has been 18 years since I was last in Primary.  I am ready for a good Sharing Time.

Life is Great!
